LITVERSE

Underwater Dreams

by Rohan Mehta

We sink beneath the surface of the green,
where light is filtered through a sea-moss pane.
A peaceful world that we have never seen,
untouched by winter storm or summer rain.

Coral spires rise like cities made of stone,
silently growing in the ocean floor.
Fish move in currents that are theirs alone,
drifting away from the distant, crowded shore.

So let us float within this liquid space,
where gravity is nothing but a word.
In this quiet depth, we find a quiet grace,
singing a melody that was never heard.

Rohan Mehta is a poet and marine biologist who writes about the quiet depths and surreal life beneath the ocean. When they are not writing, they explore coral reefs and dive in quiet lagoons.
